For Christmas I was gifted the patchwork block book The Splendid Sampler. It has 100 lovely six inch blocks inside, perfect for the Six Inch Block of the Week challenge. This week I have chosen the Friends Round the Square block to follow on from last week Friendship block.

I like this block for it simplicity but yet looks tricky to make. A couple of half square triangles and a bigger triangle and Bobs your Uncle it forms this block.

Friends Round the Square

My first two blocks are from my stash and from my Alison Glass fabrics.

The Block pattern says to use scraps of similar colours on each triangle and for the most I followed this but on my scrappy fabric I just did a two tone and I really like it!

My Second Set of blocks are Avery from Ruby Star Collective and from my Liberty Fabric collection. I can’t decide if I like them or not. Sometimes I really enjoy the floral fabrics sometimes not and I’m on the fence with these two!

So that’s it the Friends Round the Square block complete. I’m feeling the strain at the moment getting these complete each week… It’s week 8 though so I plan to get one more week complete and I’ll have a little break at a good square moment!
