The Friendship Block this week. I love the name of this block, everyone needs a friend! Another week and another block for the Six Inch Block of the Week.

Another 9 patch contstruction with plenty of half square triangles to create this fun and clever block.

The dimensions and cutting instructions have been found from She Quilts Alot from her Six Inch Sampler Quilt. I decided that there are enough instructions out there on the web so I would share where I got mine from instead! I’ll be using a different source going forward!

The Friendship Block

My first two blocks are from my stash and from my Alison Glass fabrics.

Both bold and vibrant I love the two tone nature of these. They are opposites in dark and light and its great seeing them work their colour magic.

My Second Set of blocks are Avery from Ruby Star Collective and from my Liberty Fabric collection.

For me both of these get a bit lost in the floral fabric. One subtle and the other bold the friendship star fades into the back ground. I do however like them!

This is the last of my current set of six inch blocks for the six inch block of the week project. I cut and prepared 7 weeks of blocks to keep me going back in January and I must admit I am loving this process.

So do not be disappointed the friendship block is not my last block as I am going to pick some more blocks and carry on. I’ll spend the next two weeks organising this and I’ll do a little progress post next week for you!
