Hasn’t the year 2020 been an absolute drag! There is nothing like a world wide pandemic to make me achieve a life long dream of creating my own sewing pattern! I’d like to introduce to you the Staying Home Polaroid Quilt Patten.
Inspired by rainbows and houses I wanted to create something colourful, unique and modern. A bit of an avid ispy fabric collector and already owner of a few Polaroid blocks I loved the idea of using fabric photos to share in houses. A kind of memory quilt of a time when we were stuck at home.
The theme for my Polaroid blocks were the outdoors so I have lots of prints featuring things and animals outdoors but also took the opportunity to use some photo transfer paper and add some photos of my family
This pattern would suit a beginner and beyond. The whole process is documented in text and photos which are straightforward enough to follow. The pattern includes instructions of piecing the patchwork quilt top not how to quilt and bind.
I backed mine with this colourful melon print, some simple quilting and bound it with scraps of rainbow colour.
