If you caught the Tiny House Book Liberty Carnaby post last month then you are going to love this as it’s the newest version of the Tiny House Book.  Made in Lewis and Irenes Little Flo Flowers collection it’s a real treat.  Let me take you on a journey around my Little Flo’s Flowers Tiny House Book…

Sew a Tiny House Book in a Month

This is the Tiny House Book that has come from my project, Sew a Tiny House Book in a Month.  It’s a month long course with all the patterns, video tutorials, tips, tricks and daily emails to keep you motivated in making a Tiny House Book from start to finish. When you sign up to the Sew a Tiny House Busy Book in a Month it gives you the opportunity to sew from start to finish your very own Tiny House Book – for about an hour a day over a month you can sew your own unique handmade gift!  What is involved in the month:

  • The Original Tiny House Book Sewing pattern for you to download and print
  • Step by step instructions emailed to you in bite sized chunks as you need to sew them!
  • Videos and tutorials of any tricky bits in the sewing process
  • All the information stored in one place for you to re-visit.
  • A Bonus Tiny House Book Page – to add into your Tiny House Book
  • Access to the Tiny House Book Facebook Group to ask for help
  • A Free Gift when you complete your Tiny House Book in a month (or longer!!)

Little Flo’s Flowers Tiny House Book

Let’s take a look at this beauty of a book.   I love adding all the details to my Tiny House Books and for this ditsy floral version I have added a little handmade with love tag and a ribbon enclosure.   As there are loads and loafs of flowers in the book I didn’t add lots of floral embroidery on the front which I have been known to do!! It’s the first time too that I have used a bonded piece of fabric to “glue” a window to the front of the door.  I have framed it with a simple wrapped straight stitch.   I had planned to add a number to the front of the door but in the end used a green satin stitch to embroider a square to the front.

The Windows

My favourite part of a Tiny House Book is always the windows and I have used a collection of animal prints from my 2.5″ I-Spy Fabric Charm packs to put in my windows.  Some of these are Lewis and Irene prints too so it felt good trying to keep most in the same fabric range. It took me a while to decide what to add to the windows as decoration but in the end I named each of the animals.

The Croc is called Snappy, the Elephant is Trump, a Bunny named Hop, Zeb the Zebra and lastly Cheep the little yellow chick.  I love how much fun you can have with a Tiny House Book!! For a little bit of texture in the book I added some embroidery straight stitches and little crosses around the frames.

The Little Extras

Inside the Little Flo’s Flowers Tiny House Book I have added a Toy Box and Felt “black board”, a little ode to the fuzzy felt days to be able to stick felt pieces to the blackboard.  Along with a clock, it has a tiny school room feel to the centre of the book.

For the Beds in this version of the Tiny House Book I mainly used plain fabric with a little quilting on but I wanted to make sure I showed you my Tiny Hexie English Paper pieced bed and an appliqued diamond bed cover.  They are so simple but so effective if not a little timely in the making!

Lastly each of the pages have lots of little photo frames. Some using the Little Flo’s fabrics framed on the pink/grey fabrics and the others on a plain fabric with some fun little embroidery on!

It’s such a fun and textured Tiny House Book, a pleasure to make and from start to finish it only took a month! If you’d like to make your own click here:
