Way way before I started making my own Keepsake teddy bears, way back when I was a little girl I was given make your own teddy bears and animal kits as gifts. Precut Kits that I used to sew by hand and stuff. I remember spending my pocket money on them, I was obsessed.
Part of me wished I’d kept them all as it’d be awesome to see them now as a grown up but heck I grew out of stuffed animals and I wanted rid!! Shock!! Now though I think all that time well spent sewing has given me a grounding into following patterns and creating my own stuffed bears again.
I guess its been since having my own children, I wanted to keep some of their special clothes huggable so with a bit of trial and error I started creating an army of bears. Obviously being obsessed with tiny makes I started small with this tiny bear. He’s about 15cm tall with jointed arms and legs.
I did make lots didn’t I!! After a while his size felt too small and I wanted to make him bigger. I increased the size of the pattern by 200% and had a trial make with my girls clothes. I think she’s adorable:
One of my friends saw her and asked me if I could make one for them out of a loved ones scarf. It felt an honour to do this for someone else’s special memories. It was a wool and bear colour and made a really lovely bear.
Here at Two Tiny Makes I love making things for people and these bears are no exception so if your interested please send me a message. The price for a bear is £35 and any extra bits would be more.
