Another month has gone by of what’s been an unprecedented start of the year so let’s take a look at my February Focus Cutting Sewalong half hexie blocks.

The theme this month has been getting to know you and let me walk you through each week…

Week 5 – where you live

I decided to make 3 little rounds in one 4” block this week. The great British flag, little houses and the little monsters represent my kids who live with me!

Week 6 – favourite colour

This one surprised me because I’d never say pink but while picking my fabric for this it called to me!! I started picking out the blue flower because blue is a colour heavy in my fabric stash and I wanted to include it. The orange or what turned out to be gold dots because “orange” or “sunset” colours are what I normally Say is my favourite colour. I used the pink bumbleberries fabric due the the fleck of pink in the blue fabric. Finally the colour purple or what turned into pinky Purple of the outer flower because purple is the colour I seem to wear most. Using the same pink as the centre ties this altogether into this weeks block!

But really I love all colours!

Week 7 – favourite things

I picked books as a topic this week..

Week 8 – current fabric crush

there’s two elements to this weeks choice – Scraps and Kaffe Fassett – I love the vibrant fabrics and have been crushing on them for months but can’t warrant spending on them without a project in mind for them – but a couple of scrap packs accidentally fell through my letterbox the other day and I have been putting them to good use. I made a pouch the other day and swipe to see what I have left… I wouldn’t normally try and focus cut blocks from such a small amount of precious scraps but this fits the prompt so much that I wanted to try! I aced it!! Lol.

The other element is scraps, i love my scraps and take pride in keeping, sorting, storing and using my scraps up. You can do so much with scraps!

There you have it… a fun month of February Focus Cutting. Roll on March!
