Yes! Hello again. It feels like starting to blog again is the right thing to do. I am not sure why I want it but I really like the idea it’s here. I used to enjoy writing my old blog which I took the decision to close down, a time in my life of being a new Mum, it really helped me get through those first lonely years of transition, a change that has grown me beyond my wildest imaginations.
Now I am in a different transition, one that is completely stuck in 2020 madness (Corona Virus Madness), my eldest is in school and my youngest is starting nursery and I am getting a little glimpse of something that is me, that is new. A time where my babies aren’t by my side a time to give something I want to go for a change.
What I want to do is document, share, show, everything I make, have made, things I like to sell, things I want to sell, patterns I want to share, tutorials that you can do, a pure love of the crafts that I do. I do hope you can grow with me while I work it all out!!
Looking at all of the amazing achievements, I’m just in awe. The variety and imagination is tremendous.
My latest craze was Sashiko. I came across it by chance and got hooked and became totally addicted.
It’s not difficult. The designes are simple. The thread is lovely and all worked on a dark navy blue fabric.
I bought two books, miles of thread, special needles, chalk pens and templates. I read the story of
Sashiko – pronounced Sashko – and have enjoyed every moment of my journey. Last week I purchased
some small frames, I now have to gently wash my work to remove the chalk, then mount the fabric onto
backing board and frame the work. Later in the month, when I’ve a few pieces to show, I’ll put them on here
and await your comments. You are a lovely group of people, so helpful and supportive which is a rare
gift in today’s ”race to the top” !
How so very kind of you to leave such a heart warming comment here Margaret and taking the time to roll through my old projects! These don’t touch the surface as there is so much that hasn’t made it on yet! I love a bit of Shashiko too, I’ve used it to patch my jeans up in the past with some fancy stitching! I can’t wait to see what you’ve sewn, K x
