All the talk of The Six Inch Block of the Week reminded me that I should really show you where my enthusiasm for the six inch block started. Back in 2018 I took part in Gnome Angels 100 Days 100 Blocks challenge. Using the Tula Pink City Sampler Book you create one block a day for one hundred days to create a Modern Samler style quilt top. Here is mine.
As you can see I have two colour ranges and this is because I was creating 2 quilt tops from my blocks. One for each child… As I have yet to quilt mine the tops are sat up stairs awaiting for me to baste and quilt them.
2018 was a long time ago and I can’t resist showing you this picture of the kids playing with my layout:
I am sure 2021 will be their year to be complete… Adding them on to my to do list now the littlest has started nursery! She is definately beyond the crawling process now.
The process of creating these blocks like this was pretty epic and where I don’t plan on doing 100 days 100 blocks like this again I don’t mind having the blocks of the week!
